The Association of Sewing and Design Professionals will present its 19th Annual Conference, “Be a Part of It All”, in Novi, Michigan in conjunction with the American Sewing Expo (ASE) at the Suburban Collection Showplace during the last week of September, 2012.

The master classes will be held on Wednesday and Thursday, September 26th & 27th. Our core conference will begin with an opening reception on Thursday evening and run through Sunday, September 30th. The 3-day core conference is full of excellent opportunities to explore new directions for your business, be inspired by the fabulous fashion show and the entries of the Threads Challenge, Innovative Lace. We will be toasting our Lifetime Achievement Award Honoree, Janet Pray during the opening reception at the Baronette Renaissance Hotel. Our annual meeting will also be held at the hotel on Sunday morning.

In addition to ASDP networking events, and Master Class opportunities our members look forward to each year, you will be able to enjoy a wide variety of low cost educational experiences and shopping with over 200 vendors in the expo market place. Teaming up with ASE for this “ultimate sewing weekend” in the Detroit Metropolitan area, also offers us the opportunity to increase ASDP’s visibility in a larger sewing community. Half day shifts are available in the ASDP Sewing Studio on the Expo floor making professional clothes for women reentering the work force, showcasing your garments at our annual Fashion Show on Friday evening with a reprise on Saturday on the Expo floor, demonstrating Tambour Beading in our Sewing Studio, or teaming up with a friend to help ASE with “make & takes” in the sewing café.

ASDP members can now register garments for the member Showcase Fashion show and sign up to display your products and/or services in the member Showcase Tabletop Exhibits. If you have entered this year’s Threads Challenge, you can show your garment(s) in the fashion show for no additional charge, even if you are not a finalist. Show your colleagues your talents.
